In short: Vegvisaren works offline. All the information and the read-aloud feature stay on your phone. The only feature that sends anything over the internet is the optional "Ask me anything" chat. We do not ask you to create an account or sign in, and we do not track you.

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, address, location, contacts, photos, or any device identifiers. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.
Because your question is sent to an AI service to be answered, please avoid typing sensitive personal information (for example your full name, case number, or health details) into the chat. For anything about your personal case, speak to the staff at your reception centre.
These providers may process data outside Norway/the EU (including in the United States) under appropriate safeguards.
Chat logs are kept only as long as needed to understand and improve the service, and no longer than 12 months, after which they are deleted.
Where the GDPR applies, we process the limited chat data on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing and improving a free information service for residents of reception centres. No sign-in or personal identifiers are used.
All data sent to and from the app is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
The app is intended for general use by residents and their families. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
You may ask us about the data we hold and request deletion by emailing [email protected]. Because chat logs are not linked to your identity or device, we may be unable to connect a specific log entry to you.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
